Difference between distance and displacement
Falling objects and terminal velocity:
The force of gravity acts on the falling objects and causes it to accelerate. For example, when the sky diver jumps from a plane, the weight will be much greater than the air resistance. The speed will increase rapidly and air resistance also increases. Eventually, the air resistance and the weight will balance and the speed of the sky diver will remain constant. This speed is called terminal velocity.
